    Microsfot Login

    Hi,

Does anyone know how I can create a login screen like that at http://www.divxmovies.com/members ? Is it possible to implement through frontpage? Any help on where I should be directed or begin would be appreciated.

    Hi,
check out the forum search for "password protected web" "password protection" and combinations etc, also check out our tutorial section for password protection .. you should find what you are looking amongst that lot, if not just post again.

I'm using FrontPage 2000, so the tutorial won't work for me. That's ok though.

I've been trying to get .htaccess to work, but that won't work out either.

So I started reading http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=301554 which seems like it might work for me. Only problem is when I come to the, "On the Tools menu, click Security, and then click Permissions". The security tab is unclickable. I tired different scenarios but that security option is never clickable. I am pretty sure I have front page extensions installed. I'm using netfirms small business plan.

Hi, it is a while since I used FP2000 so not sure how it differes from later versions, but I would have thought the pricipal was the same :?: you need to create a subweb, like they have in the link you gave, then have that password protected .....

have you done a search of this forum yet, I know Bud and Robert (GWDGuy) have posted a fair bit on the subject ...... sorry I can help more ... I am sure one of the others will be along later .... maybe after work - or when they get a free minute or two ....
