Hello, I am brand new to FrontPage and am having a lot of problems getting started. For better or worse, I’ve read through a few FrontPage 2003 books – “Step by Step”, “Easy FrontPage 2003”, “Show Me FrontPage 2003”. Working with text and pictures seems so easy in the books, but I can’t duplicate what they’re talking about on screen. Specially:
- One book “Easy…”) states that to enter text: “Click the page at the spot where you want to add text. The insertion point, a flashing vertical bar, appears where you clicked.” When I click anywhere on a new blank page, however, the insertion point always stays in the upper left corner – not where I click. Am I doing something wrong?
- A couple of the books state that pictures can be moved anywhere on a page and overlapped, making a montage, using the “Position Absolutely” button. I have been completely baffled and frustrated in my many attempts to do this. I can sometimes get individual pictures to move to the desired location using “Position Absolutely”. I can never get two or more pictures to line up where I want them to however. Usually, they end up side by side or lined up in a row/column. On the very rare occasions where I’ve gotten the pictures to overlap, it’s been more by accident that design. The actual positioning is very haphazard, and when I try to fine-tune them, the pictures go right back to lining up vertically or horizontally. I’m tearing my hair out here! Is there some predictable way to accomplish this?
