Hi there,
If you are talking about Shared borders then no, the width you see is the width you get, assuming you are using all of it already. Best thing is if you can give us a link then we can see exactly what is happening.
The alternative to Shared Borders is to use th Web Component "Page Include" - it acts in a similar way in that you apply it to all the pages and you change the content on the Page Include and it updates all the pages. You can have a Page Include whatever size you like.

As MJ mentions, URL for the page is the best place to start. You can widen the shared border with a transparent gif, but if it is too wide, then it will throw off the main section of your page.
You seem to be wanting a hozizontal listing which isn't what the shared border is for.

I never knew you could widen a shared border, learn something new all the time :flowers:
From the sound of it you need your navigation in the top shared border. That is more for the horizontal navigation and the side shared border for the vertical navigation.

Hi MJ,
Far as I know that is the only way it can be done in a side border. I generally do this inside a table, as I am a Table Guy (not to be confused with "The Cable Guy") but I don't think a table is necessary really.
I always had a problem with the border scrunching content and saw a post at another forum regarding this.

Yes, interesting. To be honest I dont use borders except to test when trying to solve a forum problem, so am not really that up with what can/cant be done with them. But that is a useful tip to know. I wonder, do you know the maximum width you can stretch one to so as not to mess up rest of page? or is it pretty obvious as you are making the blank.gif wider ....

Hey MJ,
Now personally, I tend to stick to top and bottom, as unless you use right and left sized equally, it tends to off center the page content. Used left for some time but moved away from it for the most part.
If I had to guess, it might be possible using a gif to have them meet in the middle of the page with no page content to speak of. Of course there is likely no point of doing this. Might make for an interesting version of a two column layout though.
I almost always use borders. Most FP users seems to avoid them, although I have experienced almost no problems with them. But like I said, I prefer top and bottom only.

Interesting. I avoid borders for two reasons: one I never knew they existed ... lol!! so started off with the Page Include. When I did discover them and go to use them I found they were not quite as flexible in use as the page include so went back to those, suppose all depends how you want to use them.

If I could take the time to get the hang of includes ( I have looked over your posts on the subject and you will be my go to person when I start playing with these) I might take a different approach but will likely try to maximize my borders with them. So, when you see me post about them, take pity on a poor boy from across the pond, will ya?
