Hi,
You will have to give us more details as to what problems you are having with publishing ..... do you get any error messages? what exactly happens to give problems.

index.html .. well it all depends what your host requires, the home page is determined by the host it can be, amongst other things

index.htm
index.html
default.htm
default.htm
index.asp
..... and so the list goes on. You will have to find out from your host what your home page should be called and you can then rename your home page to that.

As for positioning all over the place, we cannot comment without seeing the page, so a url please?

Okay,
You did not say what publishing problems you were having .... but I notice you have made the page TITLE index.htlm ..... you want to give the page title something meaningful like the name of your company. BTW it is .html not .htlm

Page title and page name are two different animals.

If you look in Folders view .... those are the page names. Your home page should be named whatever your hosting company says it should be. And your home page, will in Folders view have a "home/house" as an icon, indicating it is the home page.

As for the page itself, looks like you have used text boxes or ... or ... maybe copied from a Word document ..... so that is why it is all over the place. Do a search of this forum for

VML
text boxes
Word art
Drawing toolbar

and you will see why you really need to delete that page altogether and start again. Do not use the same page and just change the content as you will get old code left behind. Start a brand new page, DO NOT do any copy and pasting (as you will carry over the bad code)...

Use tables and cells to position all items on your page.

What I would do, is save the new page as ... for example .... test ... or .... newpage .... or .. whatever you want ... when you are sure you have the page as you want and you no longer have to say refer back to the old home page, then you can click on File/... save as ... and highlight your existing home page, and FP will then overwrite it .....

HI
I made a new home page and over writen and saved it, but the problem iam having is that the only way that my site is visable on the net is by putting in
this url http://iron4me.co.uk/INDEXHTML.htm as opposed to just putting in www.iron4me.co.uk which shows noting

many thanks

Well I type in http://www.iron4me.co.uk/ and I do get a page, admitedly it is different to this one http://iron4me.co.uk/INDEXHTML.htm

Did you ask your host what your home page is to be called? if so what did they say, if not, go ask them.
