Does FP automatically generate an error page or gently remind site viewer that they are not completing a form properly? I seem to remember both. I know that Form Properties specifies a default error page or message.

FP wont know a form is not completed properly unless you tell FP how it is to be done. You need to validate each entry. Then if not completed properly FP will give an alert box to the viewer.

ok, you gave me the answer; yes fields were validated and FP gives one a gentle reminder while filling out form; had to do this live to figure it out-I thought I remember an ERROR page template somewhere-doesn't matter
now I get an Internet E xplorer error:"Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: "http://www.422commrealty.com/Contact_Info/contact info.htm":

check out this microsoft link (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q197605). Could be extensions not installed or if they are they are corrupted. Dont ever use FTP to upload. Or could be the e-mail transport on the computer that hosts your Web is not configured correctly.

wonder what happens if a file or e-mail is not stated correctly under Form Properties?

According to the page source, the extensions are either not available or have become corrupt.
First off, you are using this form in a sub web and that means the extension support must extend to the sub web. Check with your host to verify they indeed offer extensions for the sub web.
To test the site extensions, just build a single field form with no validation or confirmation page. Place this in the root web. Set the email and file results for Formatted text. Since you already appear to have formrslt.txt as you file in _private, use it.

OK, corrected one and another appears; like the dummy I am, I realized last night that I was naming a file on MY hard drive for the form to send results instead of the server which hosts me
Now, 2 things happen:
1."[FrontPage Save Results Component]" appears towards the top of Form page; I believe this should not be happening.
2. After I fill in form, hit "Submit" Internet Explorer gives me the following error below:
CAN ANYONE HELP??????????/
The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Open the www.422commrealty.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
Click the Back button to try another link.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

Just to let yo know, we help people on this forum for free. We dont accept money. Your post offering to pay for help is not acceptable on this forum, I have deleted it.
Apart from which, you ask exactly the same as you keep asking, and the answer is the same. Check the posts already given to you. You have been given a Microsoft link to check out and follow the instructions.
Have you checked out the link and followed through on ALL the suggestions?
Frontpageforms also gave you good advice, including making a single field form, and the comments that were made about sub webs and extensions.
Have you made that suggested form? can we see the link please.
Have you checked the subweb has extensions?
Have you checked the extensions are working? As posted before on another of your threads, just becuase they are installed does not mean they are working.
People wil not work harder or quicker becuase you offer money. Any and all posts on this website are answered for free and always will be.

Listen stupid, do you really think I'd come back with a reply like that if I hadn't done everything suggested, check file paths, reload FP exstensions, etc, etc,; I have wasted far too much time on just as you guys have using FP and revolving your lives around it. How's that for an answer and thanks so much for solving my problem.

No one speaks to a member of this forum in that manner. We have zero tolerance on such rudeness.
You keep asking the same question yet never telling us what you have tried or showing us sample forms that have been suggest you make or saying what goes wrong with what we suggest. If you are with a host that offers FrontPage support and has never heard of subwebs and also recomends you use FTP to upload files to a server with extensions on ... I suggest you change hosts.
This thread is now closed.
