I need a darkened room...

Please let me know what you think ? This is my first big site and I've been at it for longer than I care to mention...

My big hassle has been with the graphics and photogallery; the organisation for whom I am making the site insist on graphics and they must have a decent photogallery with enough space for the text which can be sizeable. We have a slow dial up and ADSL here in Gozo, so loading speeds are crucial. As an interim measure I am using the FP 2002 slide show - not ideal I know, but I will need to switch to something else as there will be many more animals to be put onto the site. Ideally, the vertical or horizontal FP gallery would be fine, but there is not enough room for the text.

Anyhow, I'm rambling, so over to you guys and thanks...(do I mean that?)

I have only had time for a quickie look as in a rush, your home page is not set for 100% like the other pages, so it is way over to the left with empty space to the right (view at 1024 and you will see what I mean) .....

you have a dead link on this page http://www.designbylizard.com/rescue_&_rehoming.htm - the photogallery link in the body text doesnt work.

Now most pages have the grey background throughout, including the table ..... but this page has black table background - okay presumably so people can see the "fireworks" - the contact us page has white table in the middle ... I can understand the black one, but the white one seems totally out of place with all the other grey pages.

That is a Xara template - yes, I have not used one of those before but understand they are quite easy to customise .....

anyway .... gotta run ....

Thanks ever so much for looking at the site and your advice and observations etc., Yes, I have used Xara nav bars and headers for this site. I know this may sound really silly, but how do I get say a site I have just made (ie all the files) to the person I have made the site for so they can upload onto their server for instance ?

Hi,
What you can do is either "publish" the web to a disc (publish not burn) and send them that, or say publish it to a folder on your desktop, then zip it up and send them the zip. Remember though that if they do not have Xara they cannot make any alterations to the navigation or stuff that Xara has made, and if they dont have FP they cannot add to the photogallery etc ...... just a thought ..... but either publish to disc or desktop and zip up is best way I think....
