View Full Version : Text sizes in different browser 'views'

In a fit of enthusiasm I reset my 'first try' web and decided to tidy it up, making it user friendly by using percentages etc.
Old web was set for 800x600, but now I use larger resolution, so need to keep it tidy in both.

So far I have only a basic index page on the drawing board (3 column table for hyperlinks, text and any other) and for some reason my main (is it body?) text does not change size when altering the 'View' command in the web browser.

My hyperlink list changes size though and I really can't find any difference in the HTML coding.

In order to keep to the minimum of HTML codes, have a basic Arial font and keep the 'view' flexibility what should I have altered in format/style? Or what shouldn't I? 8(

All I have done so far is change p. h2 and h3.

Considering I only have a few sentences on the screen so far it really is driving me nuts. If anyone can tell me what to look up in help I would be very grateful. I also have FP Insideout and still can't solve this myself.

Hi,
Can we have a url to look at please?? You can use CSS to control the size of the font, and have it so that it gets larger and smaller using the browser View/text .......

There are different ways of specifiying font size not all will adapt to the View/text size of the browser

Hello, Many. I thinkyou helped me the last time I came here. 8)

I managed to sort it out by completely removing all formatting, ditching my altered styles, etc, and starting from scratch.
This time it is working. I must have added a font size somewhere and forgot to delete it when working through the options of 'how DO I do this?'

Now main (p.) text altering nicely although headings remain one size which figures.
No other style or formatting added at all which has to be good.

Haven't got as far as publishing yet so nothing to see. Why did I start this when the old web was working perfectly? - albeit with messy HTML and a bit horrid if not viewed at 800x600.

Thank you for quick reply. I dare say I will return as frustration level rises again. Oh boy.
