Hello,

I have a frustrating question. I used www.websbybonnie.com to test the website www.geraldbrimacombe.com. It's all done and when I search on "Gerald Brimacombe", www.websbybonnie.com appears. There are not any key words that match.

I'm even updating www.geraldbrimacombe.com with as many unique words as possible; and still nothing. How do I get the search engines to stop pulling up www.websbybonnie.com when you search on "Gerald Brimacombe" or "Gerald Brimacombe Photography"?

Thanks for your help.

MJ,

Do a MSN Search. You should see it there, hopefully. On google, it only comes up when you search on www.geraldbrimacombe.com, and that's the correct website. It's when you search MSN that it gets the wrong website.

Hope this helps.

You don't you wait for them to "fall off"

Once a website is indexed in the search engine it is not automatic that a newer version will be updated. You have to wait for the old version to get updates.. Also if you have one domain and change to a new domain I have seen dead websites stay in the MSN index for a year.

Just make sure your New site is up to date and properly set up and just index it and eventually the old site will fall out... Some search engines will let you request that an old site be removed but there are so many i doubt very many will do that anymore.

Thanks for the info. I have definately learned a lesson here. My client is not happy with me because he wants his site showing (obviously). I am currently cleaning his site up as best as I can.

Thanks for your help.
