Built in counter

how do you use the built-in counter in MS Frontpage? :?: i was thinkingof downloading one off the internet, but i heard that some contain spyware.

Hi there,
To use the FP counter go to insert/webcomponent/hit counter ..... you can configure the look of the counter and what number it starts at, but it has to be published and live for it to work and fo ryou to see it work. I dont know if the ones you can download contain spyware and tha stuff, some probably do, but I use two that dont for sure and are perfectly safe - one on my village site, you can see it in action at bottom of page here
Monkton Combe, UK (http://www.monktoncombe.com/) and I am sure I had the other one on another site, but cant seem to locat it but the other one, similar style, is here (http://www.sunshinecounters.com/) they both have sort of matching guestbooks as well, all free.

Give a shout if you use the FP counter and get stuck.

I put the counter on my home page but all that shows up is a broken link. i was thinking that maybe i have to upload something along with just publishing the page.

Ah, do you have FrontPage Extensions on your site as I thnk you need those for the counter to work, sorry should have mentioned that ..... :confused: :?:
