doesn't affect me too much because i don't do anything that technical ;)

Yeah, I have never actually ended up using ActiveX controls or things like that just because I haven't seen the benefits outweigh some of the problems.

It will be interesting to see how the browsers, especially IE, evolve over the next few years, though. Standards could really be big.
