photo gallery question.

I am going to include the use of photo gallery component on my site. In slideshow view, when clicking on thumbnails, the larger image appears.
Under that larger image, you can include type. Can anyone tell me if HORIZONTAL LAYOUT or VERTICAL LAYOUT have this capability? In essence, if I type in some text, would it be under CAPTION, or DESCRIPTION?
