Hi Skump :HI: :F: :HI:

I think you have left something behind :p:

background="file:///C:/premiercomputing/images/background.gif"

I did find the bright blue against the white background hurt my eyes a bit, made me squint ..... so decided to have a nose around in your source code ..... maybe when your background image is there, may look different
:crazy:

Took a quick peek while I was waiting to upload files for a client...

#1 I would suggest using the same size font in your left menu...for all the choices...so you may have to a) make the menu bigger b) change Business vision to something else...

#2 I would also suggest using a table on the contact page, so all the names, extension #s and email address line up.

#3 I didn't sneak a peek at your code but did you [hide] (http://www.talkfrontpage.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1010) the email addresses so that robots can't spider them for the purpose of SPAM?

Just a few quick thoughts...

Thanks you two.

Mandy,
I dont understand why it is trying to take my background image from my C drive. I have the image in my image folder for the site. That is weird. Can you see the blue left bar when you look at it or is it not even there? :?:

Just Jay,
Your thoughts were all things that I knew were wrong, I just got too excited to get it out and thought people may not notice........but I better get in and fix them.The contact names are actually all in tables; just not all the same one.
I did not hide any of the email addresses so I am not sure why they are not showing up for you?

Thanks very much for checking this stuff for me.

What blue left bar??? .... no cannot see blue bar ...... and I think that code is on all of your pages :cry:

Most pages I think are Arial but Teamplate is not, and stands out as being not only odd one out, but not so good to look at. Think there was another page like that .... can't find it now.

Thanks MJ,
I know that code is on all the pages. Can't figure out why it is trying to pull it from there. I will have to keep looking at it today. I also just changed the font on the Teamplate page. Please let me know if you see any other problems like that. That is what is great about having other eyes looking at things like this, sometimes you look so long you start to see it in your sleep.

Thanks, let me know if you find anything else.

Hi skump
Not much time left for me today, so will have closer look at site tomorrow. Re your background image, cant you just open up hard drive web ... search and replace that code on all pages with code it should be, then just republish ?? ....... not sure if thats easiest method, dont know how many pages you have ...... but will look more at site tomorrow when can concentrate better, doing lots of fiddly things here at the moment, yuk!

See ya :furball:

With the tables and contact names...use a 5 column table...and follow this out line...

Column #1 = Name
Column #2 = Blank
Column #3 = Extension #
Column #4 = Blank
Column #5 = EMail address

This way extension #s and email address will all have the same "left margin"

Email address are showing up for me, and they are showing up for Spam Spiders as well...go ahead and read that link I gave you and you should see what I am talking about :D:

Somethign else I forgot to mention...

<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0">
<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">

And open your site and then do a Find and Replace throught your entire site....

Find this code --
<body background="file:///C:/premiercomputing/images/background.gif" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" onload="dynAnimation()"> & replace it with this code --
<body background="http://www.premiercomputing/images/background.gif" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" onload="dynAnimation()">

Then you should be laughing all the way to the Candy-Store!

Cause I really didnt feel like working any more...I went ahead and grabbed your contacts and put them into all one table...and then put them in columns so they all line up - how I was describing above.

I also took Mr and Ms Potter's email address and applied a different method to each so that a SPAM spider will not grab their email address. AS I am sure that everyone that is listed on that page does not really want to get SPAM...anyway Ms. Potter's is done by using a JavaScript while Mr Potter's is done by using a GRAPHI @ instead of a text @....(so sneaky)

Feel free to take a look [here] (http://www.thejehm.net/look/skump.htm) and you will hopefully get a clearer picture of what I was rambling about...

WOW!
Thanks very much for the work you have done JJ.
I am working on making the changes now and will republish later today.

I still am a little confused as to why it was taking my background from my C drive instead of the image in the web file?

Any ideas?

Thanks again. You guys are GREAT!

May just be a glitch...it happens sometimes...without rhyme or reason..:?:

JJ,
I just tried to replace the image as you suggested above. When I copied the two codes you gave me it did replace them but when it did the back ground was gone.

So on my machine I am seeing the background because it is pulling it locally, but when I replace it with the image saved in the web it takes it out and it looks to me the way you are seeing it.

I dont get it! what is going on?

I made a mistake in that code...sorry I left out your DOT COM...

It should be
<body background="http://www.premiercomputing.com/images/background.gif" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" onload="dynAnimation()">

Sorry - [see] (http://www.thejehm.net/look/skump.htm) it works here... :blushing:

JJ,
O.K I think I have it figured out.
I had a copy of this saved to the server as well as the one I was working with locally. So what I did was just deleted the image from each individual page (I know it was a lot of extra work.) and went in and replaced it with the pic I had saved in the image folder on the network.
Can you take a look and let me know if it is working right now?

Also I changed the resolution on my monitor to some thing other than 800X600 (1024X768) to make sure it will look right. And it doesnt! I think it is because I have my background tiled when I saved it. I am not sure how to fix that except to make a new image and redo everything. Any ideas for a faster way? Or do you think I need to worry about something like that?

You know what I would do is either use the CSS to do that graphic once...(no:repeat) so it doesn't tile or you - the way it tiles on my monitor it looks on purpose...lucky???

You may want to look [here (http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp)] for a quick reference on making External CSS....:up:

Thanks JustJay.
I have yet to learn about CCS but I hear it all the time. Keep meaning to read about it. This will be a good learning project.

Thanks again for all your help!:D:
